Long period sleeping time - The polar opposite of Insomnia!

Thinking that by sleeping for 14 hours a day, instead of the 5 hours you do being an insomniac, is not desirable! Yes, you would have cured the problem of Insomnia, but in the process you would definitely do some things to your body and your social life, things you could do well without. Long period sleeping time, for a start, impacts your social life.

How long period sleeping time impacts your social life? Simple, your routine of getting up at 8 am in the morning and going on a walk with your friends would now have to be compromised. Trust your friends to be at your doorstep, trying to wake the hell out of you!

In a lot of cases, it has been observed that a person having a long period sleeping time often sleeps less during the weekdays. By sleeping for longer periods during the weekends, he is only trying to make up the sleep time lost during the weekdays. Individuals are helpless on this situation especially if their work hours demand them to spend that extra hour in the office.

A lot of this problem arises from childhood. If the kid has spent long hours in the night, trying to study or worse still, play computer games; he would have conservatively shorter sleeping periods for some days in a month. You would also note that such a kid tends to sleep for longer periods on some days. Well, bad habits die hard, and this is one habit that remains bad by the time the child grows up.

Sleeping a lot is advisable. Better than having less sleep, give rest to your body, as it surely would not complain. Long period sleeping time at the cost of short sleeping periods for some days in a week is a situation you should avoid at all costs. Sleeping 9 hours every day is a much better option than sleeping for 5 hours for some days, and 14 on others!
